The Mount Rushmore Of Buffalo Sports
Buffalo is a great city to live, work, and play in.
There is so much to do, and so much history, that it makes Western New York one of the best places in America.
That greatness absolutely extends to our sports teams.

There is a rich history of Sports greatness that exists in the 716 and that greatness has helped to create some of the best players to ever play the game in so many sports.
It doesn't matter if it's football, basketball, hockey, lacrosse, or other sports. It doesn't matter what sport it is, I all but guarantee you that there is a Buffalo connection.
But, who are the best players to ever play for, or come from, Buffalo? If there was a Mount Rushmore that was dedicated to Buffalo sports, who would be on it?
I asked my Facebook network this exact question, and here are the 4 sports players that I think should be on a Buffalo Sports Mount Rushmore:
Gilbert Perreault
Born in Victoriaville, Quebec, the 6'1 Center was 1/3 of the French Connection and played 17 years in the Blue and Gold for the Buffalo Sabres and still holds the Sabres record for the most points scored in a single game. He also has the distinction of being the only player to ever wear the number 11 as the number was retired after he retired.
Bob McAdoo
The 6'9 basketball center played college basketball at North Carolina and got his NBA start in Buffalo with the Buffalo Braves. He earned the NBA Most-Valuable Player Award and 3 NBA Scoring Titles as a Brave, and really put Buffalo on the map as a powerhouse until other things caused the Braves to implode and move away from Buffalo.
OJ Simpson
Orenthal James Simpson is one of the greatest running backs in NFL history and, solely based on his on-field performance, has earned a spot on Buffalo's Mount Rushmore. Just take a look at his accolades: The first NFL player to rush for more than 2,000 yards in a season, 1974 NFL MVP and Offensive Player of the Year, 5 NFL Pro Bowls, 5 First Team All-Pro, 4 NFL Rushing Titles, 1975 NFL Scoring Title, and being named to the NFL's 75th and 100th Anniversary Team.
Jim Kelly
No other player in Buffalo sports has had the impact on a team that Jim Kelly did for the Buffalo Bills in the late 80s. The master of the K-Gun Offense helped turn the Bumbling Bickering Bills to the team that no one wanted to play.
