Special Equipment Drive Planned For Little League Team In Buffalo
The Buffalo Bisons are asking for help from the city of good neighbors. They're hoping to gather some equipment for a local team who recently had theirs stolen.
Little league sports are incredibly important. They teach young kids how to take direction, the value of being a good teammate, the importance of physical fitness, and a bunch more.
This summer you're going to see a bunch of kids out playing sports from baseball to football and lacrosse. But one team is going to need some help before they're able to take the field again.
According to WGRZ, the River Rock Little League had a majority of its equipment stolen last month. Unfortunately, that sidelined them for many events over the last couple of weeks.
This is where the Buffalo Bisons have stepped in to help out. They've teamed up with Victory Sports to hold a Baseball & Softball Equipment Drive before their game on Sunday, June 12 at Sahlen Field. The game starts at 1:05pm and the drive will take place outside the Swan Street Gate starting at 11:30 a.m. before the game. They'll be looking for new or slightly-used baseball and softball equipment, including baseballs, gloves, bats, bases, and helmets. Of course, monetary donations will be accepted too.
If you choose to donate, you will get a buy-one, get-one-free ticket coupon that can be used at that game or throughout the 2022 season and will also get you an entry for a special raffle for prizes including a team-autographed Bison's jersey, 4 tickets to a future Toronto Blue Jays game at Rogers Centre, Bison's gift cards, tickets to future Bison's games and more.
