Four cities in New York State were recently named some of the best places to live in the entire county.

US News and World Report recently published their "Best Places to Live in the U.S. in 2022-2023" list and four cities in New York made it into the Top 50.

Buffalo was ranked #45 overall. The "Queen" city got high marks for value and quality of life while getting low marks for desirability and net migration.

Overall Buffalo got a 6.4 out of 10 rating

Rochester was ranked slightly ahead of Buffalo at #42 overall. The best marks Rochester received were for the quality of life and value. Rochester was lacking in net migration and the job market.

Overall Rochester got a 6.4 out of 10 rating.

Syracuse was ranked #38 overall, just below Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Syracuse got high marks in the value and quality of life categories while getting below average scores in net migration and desirability.

Albany was rated as the best city to live in New York State. Overall was ranked #21 best city to live in the county. Albany got high marks in value and job market, while it had low marks in desirability and net migration.

You might notice that New York City didn't make the Top 50. In fact, the "Big Apple" didn't make the Top 100 of the best places to live list. Overall New York City was ranked the 120th best city to live in.
