25 of the Best Hip-Hop Clothing and Footwear Collaborations of 2017
Since the start of 2017, a number of major clothing and footwear brands have teamed up with popular rappers to create extensive clothing capsule collections, rare accessories and limited-edition footwear. More than ever before, big fashion brands are capitalizing on a culture that continues to grow.
From multiple Travis Scott collaborations (Helmut Lang, Nike and Ksubi) to Kanye West's highly sought-after Calabasas collection with adidas Originals, brands took notice of hip-hop's popularity in 2017, as the genre was named music's most dominant in the U.S. for the first time.
Coveted streetwear brand Supreme was not far behind this year with its hip-hop collabs. Teaming up with the iconic Southern imprint Rap-A-Lot Records, the New York retailer created a series of tees inspired by the label's signature logo and the Geto Boys' critically-acclaimed album, We Can't Be Stopped. Another major release from Supreme with a touch of hip-hop was the brand's collaboration with legendary Queensbridge MC Nas. Released in the fall, the collaborative tees featured a photo of God's Son in the front chest in multiple colorways.
Rappers like Future, Skepta and Curren$y, to name a few, were also part of this year's collaborative wave as they teamed up with some major footwear brands to create their very first signature sneakers.
All in all, hip-hop not only dominated the world of music this year, but it reigned supreme in the world of fashion. Check below for the 25 best hip-hop clothing and footwear collaborations of 2017.
