Battle of the Headliners – Aaliyah Vs. T.L.C. Who Won?

This morning's battle features the late Aaliyah taking on the Atlanta trio T.L.C.

Aaliyah was very successful with a number of top hits before her untimely death in 2001.

Her first single released in 1994 "Back & Forth" held the #1 position for 3 consecutive weeks and was certified gold.

Her second release "At Your Best (You Are Love)" was also certified gold.

Aaliyah was also an actress and was destined for greatness had she not been taken away so soon!

TLC consisted of Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins, Lisa "Left Eye" Lopez, and Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas.

Formed in Atlanta in 1990, TLC was one of the most popular and successful groups of the 90's and early 2000's with a string of top hits!

Similar to Aaliyah, their first single "Ain't 2 Proud 2 Beg" in 1992 was certified platinum.

Later that same year, they released another single entitled "Baby-Baby-Baby" which went #1 for two straight weeks and was also certified platinum.
