I recently read an article about how Florida and Kentucky are requiring anyone who files for welfare benefits to pass a drug test.  This got me thinking, should New York State do the same?

Taxes on the working class in New York State are among the highest in the nation.  By eliminating drug users from the welfare rolls we stand to decrease the amount of money being budgeted to support these programs.  On the other hand does it cause unfair embarrassment to those who are not drug users but need the assistance of the state in order to make ends meet?

Should this become law in New York State? Take our poll.
