The 'Raise the Age' rally will be held to encourage to state senators to pass the criminal justice package that will raise the age on youth that NY convicts as adults!

The state assembly has already passed this, now it's in the hands of the State Senate. This event will have a host of speakers to include Assemblywoman Crystal Peoples-Stokes, and will be followed by community members calling state senators asking them to take action.

This event will be held on March 17th at 2:45pm at East High School.

Young men of color make up 82% of youth sentenced to confinement as adults. The package of criminal justice reforms that is being championed by local State Assemblywoman Crystal Peoples-Stokes has already passed in the state assembly, but is being held up in the senate. The purpose of this event is to let local state senators, and legislators across New York know that here in Buffalo, people see an urgency of reforming our criminal justice system.
