Thanks to the "Buffalo Billion" investment and a partnership with Alfred State College, Burgard Bulldogs will be able to study fields such as auto technology, welding and machine tool technology and graduate in five years with their diploma AND an associates degree in manufacturing!

It is estimated that there will be more than 17,000 vacancies in local advanced manufacturing jobs in Western New York between now and 2020. This vocational program would effectively help to meet the needs of BPS students who can't afford or are not interested in traditional college and prepare them to fill job openings immediately after graduation!

For example, Warren Hoy, plant manager at Dupont, told the crowd at Canisius College's "Reaching Back and Moving Forward" BHM event that he will have hundreds of openings available in the next 3-5 years for employees with such training.

So if you or someone you know has the opportunity to go to Burgard High School, make sure you take this path to earn an associates degree too, because it will save you a lot of money and will start your adult life out with career stability.
