Kudos to The Canisius High Crusaders Football Team for winning the New York State Catholic High School Athletic Association Championship by defeating Cardinal Hayes High School 50-44 on December 4th, 2016

Mayor Byron Brown honored the team at City Hall and according to Channel 4 WIVB News Mayor Brown told the team:

“You worked together as a team to reach this great moment in your lives, one of many great moments for all of you to come.”

Head Coach Rich Robbins spoke highly of his Championship Crusaders Team and was quoted by WIVB as saying:

“It is a culmination of a ton of hard work by all our coaches and our players and it really is a football family at Canisius and today is a culmination of that.” 

Every member of the team received a Championship Ring as the team celebrates their second Championship win in the last three seasons.

Watch as the Canisius Crusaders were invited to City Hall by the Mayor to commemorate their State Championship in football.
