Buffalo Bills Player Hosting Free CommUNITY Day This Sunday

A Buffalo Bills player is hosting a community event this Sunday, July 16, 2023. The event will feature free food, activities for the kids, community resources and more!

Who Is Dion Dawkins Of The Buffalo Bills

Dion Dawkins, born April 26, 1994, is from Rahway, New Jersey. His nickname in High School was "the Shnowman.” He attended college at Temple University, where he was named First-team All-American Athletic Conference selection after his senior year. He was selected by the Buffalo Bills in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Dion was named the 2023 Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee for the Bills thanks to all of his community efforts. He founded his foundation, Dion's Dreamers in 2020.

Dion’s Dreamers was founded to mentor and support young men and women in underserved communities and those in a place of mental, financial, or physical hardship. Dion’s Dreamers also aims to advocate for vulnerable populations by increasing awareness of the environmental issues that directly affect their communities.

Dion Dawkins' Foundation Hosting Community Day In Buffalo, NY

Buffalo Bills Pro Bowl offensive tackle Dion Dawkins is stepping up to support the Buffalo community. His Dion’s Dreamers foundation, along with Trusted Nurse Staffing, will be hosting the 716 CommUNITY Day, presented by West Herr and Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of Western New York. The event is free and focuses on community-building, empowering, and supporting one another.

Attendees will enjoy entertainment - live music from DJ PNasty, a Build-a-Bike workshop presented by Highmark Healthcare, and Pacific Cycle (first come, first serve). There will also be a bounce house obstacle course and plenty of free food from Fat Bobs BBQ, Mother Cluckers Grill, the Kitchen Food Truck, the Cheesey Chick Food Truck, What’s Pop-In Gourmet Popcorn, Audley’s Carribean Cusine, and BarBill.

Pre-registration to receive groceries/hygiene products/hot meals is closed, but the foundation is making 250 walk-up tickets available at the event entrance (Groceries/hygiene products/hot meals are subject to availability). There will be health and wellness community partners onsite. The event is free and open to the public.
