WNY Man Buys $2 Lottery Ticket with $100, Gets $150 Change Back
You're probably thinking the same thing I am...how did that math work out?
Police are calling it a scam and suspect that the man has done this several times. State police were called to Champs Mini Mart in Albion for a fraud complaint, according to WIVB. Authorities say the man went into the store and purchased a $2 lottery tickets with a $100 bill. He then asked the clerk for different denominations for his change. Somehow, he managed to trick the clerk into giving him back $150 in change (remember he paid with $100). Law enforcement suspect that he has used this trick throughout Niagara County.
I'm still not sure how the math worked out in the clerk's head, but math isn't everyone's strong suit. You can see the suspect's picture here.
