State of Emergency

It appears so many people have not followed the driving ban in Buffalo and surrounding areas that the military is coming in.

The massive winter storm that has hit large parts of the United States and Canada, has had a tremendous impact on multiple states from the midwest to the eastern seaboard.

Conditions have improved in some areas to a point where it's now safe to drive, but other areas are still heavily impacted by snow and abandoned vehicles

Many streets in parts of Erie County are still impassable, still making calls for assistance difficult in some areas

The blizzard that has been seriously impacting the midwest and east coast for the last couple of days will leave its mark in many places.

The hardest hit areas have nearly 2/3rds of emergency vehicles are stuck and cannot get out.

Current weather conditions have also made it nearly impossible to travel around the region.

Governor Kathy Hochul announced that a travel ban is in effect for the New York State Thruway as a treacherous winter storm rolls into the state.

It hasn't felt like an emergency for awhile. And it's about to become official. As of Saturday, we will no longer be in a state of emergency in Erie County.
