Recently, seven people died from overdoses in Western New York in one day.

Medical officials have had a busy few days in the 716 as illegal drug use has taken several lives.

Officials warn that this synthetic opioid is 5,000 times more powerful than heroin and 100 times more powerful than fentanyl.

It has been a busy day for officers as investors search for answers.

New York State was above the national average for overdose deaths.

Between January 29 and February 7, 23 people have died in Erie County from a heroin overdose. Nineteen of those deaths have been confirmed to have been the result of  a deadly batch of heroin spiked with synthetic fentanyl.
