America's sweetheart took another huge stage for her country last night.  Obama fan Gabrielle Douglas hit the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, NC last night to lead the Nation in the Pledge of Allegiance. Check out the young Olympic Gold Medalist and her hair-do inside.

To control a people's culture is to control their tools of self-determination in relationship to others. Like educational leaders of other cultures, proponents assert that what educates one group of people does not necessarily educate and empower another group — so they assert educational priorities distinctly for the Africans in a given context.

Now that the Olympics are over, gold medalist Gabby Douglas returned to the U.S. for one of her first big late-night appearances on Jay Leno last night (Monday, August 13). First Lady Michelle Obama joined Gabby for an inspirational interview all Americans can take pride in! Watch it inside.

As soon as we have a new African American role model emerge, the haters want to come and bring down our positive vibe!  Really the situation is nothing new, females hating on another chick's hair. But now that there is suspicion of NBC mocking Gabby's success. People all over Facebook, including some of my FB friends are banding together calling the Olympic inspired commercial racist.
