Last Day Of Summer Storms For Western New York
There is no doubt that you have heard or said the popular phrase "in like a lion, out like a lamb". That term is typically used for the transition of weather from the beginning of March to the end of March. But it may be fitting for the conditions that are predicted for the Western New York area today.
As we say goodbye to summer and welcome the start of fall, there are some strong storms that are predicted to hit the area. In fact, there are some reports that the southern tier portion of Western New York will receive the threat of tornadoes popping up.
Be weather aware and alert and keep an eye out for heavy rain and wind. I get picked on often for telling (hounding?) people to clear out their drains and gutters. If you help move the water away from your house or business buildings, it can really help to keep it protected from water damage. Call me crazy, but I also prefer to keep my vehicle away from trees and power lines when big storms are predicted.
Summer ends and fall officially begins on Thursday September 22. But the way the forecasts reads it feels more like a spring to summer transition jut with cooler temperatures.
