You always have to be careful when you are outside during a Thunderstorm. Check out this video of a man nearly struck by lightning as he was walking across a college campus.

Romulus McNeill was only a few inches away when a lightning bolt struck the ground. The force of the bolt was strong enough to knock the umbrella out of his hand.

McNeill was very lucky, as twelve people have been killed by lightning in the United States so far this year.

On average, more than four-dozen people are killed by lightning in the United States every year. Plus Men are four times as likely to be struck.
