Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf once again shows support for Meek Mill. On Monday (Feb. 25), the politician used his Twitter account to announce his push for more judicial reform as it relates to probation.

In a series of tweets, Gov. Wolf said that the Philadelphia rapper's probation case is proof that the criminal system is broken and needs to be fixed. ".@MeekMill's probation term demonstrates PA's need for commonsense criminal justice reform. He was under probation for 14 years, and a wheelie out-of-state put him back in prison, costing taxpayers. I’m pushing for probation reform," Wolf wrote in a tweet, which included an article about these same perceived issues.

In a series of subsequent tweets, Wolf presented initiatives that he's already implemented for criminal justice reform, including the Clean Slate Law, which gives offenders a second chance. In addition to that, the Pennsylvania state government has expanded DNA testing, streamlined services for those leaving prison, and eliminated driving suspensions for non-driving infractions.

These are just a few initiatives that will help reduce recidivism and Wolf plans to do more work in probation reform. The case surrounding Meek, who was released from prison last April, stems from his violating the terms of his probation for a decade-old weapons and drugs case. He's been on probation for over a decade now.

"It certainly doesn’t help Meek Mill, who is ready and able to make a great contribution to our society," Gov. Wolf told Pennsylvania Capital Star. "It doesn’t help anybody who’s in a position to get back into the swing of things, help their family, help their community, help their economy. All those things are thwarted by having a bad criminal justice system."

Wolf originally supported Meek as the rapper was still locked up last March. At the time, Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner said that he wouldn't oppose Meek being released from prison early. Wolf endorsed that decision, tweeting "I support D.A. Larry Krasner’s position in the case of Robert Williams (Meek Mill). Our criminal justice system is in need of repair. That’s why my admin has made efforts to invest in programs that divert individuals from the system, improve public safety, and promote fairness."

In January, Meek and Jay-Z announced Reform Alliance, a new criminal justice reform organization with CNN's Van Jones as CEO of the company and $50 million in funding from several sports team owners including Philadelphia 76ers co-owner Michael Rubin, Brooklyn Nets co-owner Clara Wu Tsai and others.

Upon reading Gov. Tom Wolf's tweet for probation reform, Meek Mill posted a tweet containing several championship trophy emojis. Check out Gov. Tom Wolf's messages below.
