As the cold and snowy weather starts to set in, the Cincinnati Bengals take a road trip to Buffalo to face the Bills in an NFL Week fourteen matchup that has big implications for both teams.

For the Bengals, going into this game, are in third place in the AFC North with a 4-8 record, but the playoffs are not out of reach for them as they are only two games behind the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens. A win in Buffalo would place them in a good position to catch up in the race to win the AFC North.

While the Bills, which hold the seventh seed going into this game, need to win throughout if they hope to catch the New England Patriots and win the AFC East. If the Bills lose, they will quickly find themselves on the outside looking in for a spot in the playoffs.

Buffalo Bills beat Cincinnati Bengals In An Epic Game

The weather in Buffalo leading up to game time was quite welcoming for the Bengals, which you would think would help the Bills, but did not slow down Cincinnati's offense attack as they converted 7 out of 8 3rd downs on their way to scoring three touchdowns against the Bills' defense. Buffalo, who has struggled when playing against Joe Burrow, had to deal with two passing scores from Burrow, tossing touchdowns to Tee Higgins and Chase Brown, while Brown added a second score for him on a 5-yard run.

While the first half saw the Bills' offense struggle against Cincinnati's offense, the Bills' offense did show some life in the second quarter as Josh Allen tossed an 11-yard scoring pass to Khalil Shakir, which was later capped off when Dawson Knox caught a two-point conversion.

The second half started with both the Bills playing much better on both sides of the ball.

Early in the third quarter, Josh Allen and Dalton Kincaid connected for a 5-yard pass to help the Bills bring the score to 21-18. That wasn't it for the Bills' offense, as they started another big drive which almost ended with a James Cook touchdown, but a last-minute strip by the Bengals defense led to a fumble that was recovered in the endzone by Cincinnati. That turnover helped set the Bengals up to take the ball 80 yards downfield for Joe Burrow to toss his third touchdown pass of the game, a twelve-yard score to tight end Mike Gesicki.

With the Bengals taking a 28-18 lead, some folks started to head to the Highmark Stadium exits; however, if there is one thing we have learned during the Josh Allen era, it is that you should never leave a game early. Midway through the 4th quarter, JA17 tucked the ball and scampered 40 yards for his first rushing touchdown of the game, his third overall score.

With the Bills trailing and the Bengals driving, it looks like Cincinnati was on the verge of scoring another touchdown against the Bills; however, the reigning AFC Defensive Player of the Week had something to say about that. Christian Benford, on a cornerback blitz play, put some major pressure on Joe Burrow. To try and get away from the pressure, Burrow tried to toss a lob pass over Benford, but he did not account for Benford's jumping ability as he was able to hop in the air, catch an interception, and take it back 67 yards for a Bills go-ahead touchdown.

That wasn't all for the Bills' defense, because on the Bengals' ensuing drive, AJ Epenesa was able to grab a tipped pass and intercept another ball from Joe Burrow. The Bills took the ball on offense after that turnover, and drove down the field again and scored another touchdown. Josh Allen tossed a 3-yard pass to Jackson Hawes, which gave the Bills a 39-28 lead.

Those three fourth-quarter scores ended up turning the tide for Buffalo, as the Bills put away the Bengals in an epic game. The Bills now look forward to NFL Week Fifteen, where they will have a rematch against the Patriots in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
