The Buffalo Bills have been pretty fortunate when it comes to avoiding major injuries from 2019-2021. The only major one was Tre'Davious White on Thanksgiving last year, which he just came back from two weeks ago to game action.

This season has been a completely different story.

The Bills have been hit hard by the injury bug in 2022, as they have had to play most games shorthanded.

Micah Hyde and Tommy Doyle are out for the season. Jamison Crowder may be done for the season, we have to wait and see. Almost every starter on defense has missed time because of injury and on offense, we have seen players like Dion Dawkins, Mitch Morse, Gabe Davis and Dawson Knox miss game action.

The Bills also lost star edge rusher Von Miller for at least four games with a meniscus injury, as he was placed on injured reserve after he hurt his knee on Thanksgiving against the Detroit Lions.

On Wednesday, shocking news came from head coach Sean McDermott, as he announced that Miller was done for the season with an ACL injury.

Exploratory surgery, which was meant to repair the meniscus (put it back into its proper place) and clear out cartilage damage, revealed the ACL injury which required repair.

Bills fans were devastated to learn that Miller would be out for the season, but Miller posted a video from his hospital bed, asking Bills fans to not feel sorry for him.

"Mentally, I could not be in a better spot. Don't feel sorry for me, don't say 'I hate it for you,' none of that stuff," said Miller.

"I love you guys and I appreciate you guys, all the love and respect," added Miller.

Ian Rapoport reports that Miller should have a full recovery.

This means that Greg Rousseau and A.J. Epenesa will be asked to step up and apply pressure on opposing quarterbacks.

The Bills can overcome. They were 13 seconds away from making the AFC Championship game and could have won last year's Super Bowl, without Miller. This is a huge blow for their defense but they can still overcome it because of how good the roster is.
