There are millions of cars and truck and SUV's in New York State. However, few things make a vehicle stand out like a customized license plate!

Here in New York State, the law says that cars need to have a clearly visible license plate on both the front and the back of the vehicle.

But maybe this is the year that the plate on your car becomes more of a statement than just an ordinary mix of numbers and letters.

Now that the snow is falling and the ski slopes are open, you may be spending more time on skis than in your car! If that is the case, you may want to show your love for being on skis and help the slopes as well with a slick license plate!

What does a personalized or custom license plate cost in New York State? According to the New York State DMV, Passenger plates are $60 upfront and $31.25 when you renew them.

As far as the "SKI" plates, a portion of the initial fees help the slopes around New York State.

I have owned the same license plate number for more than 20 years! You would think that by now I would remember the plate number by heart. However, it is one of those things that I am asked to write down only once in a while an I can never seem to get it right! Perhaps a personalized plate would help with that?
