New York State Announces Massive, Important Decrease at Concerts
This is great news for law enforcements and for concert goers in New York State!
The New York State DMV made an announcement now that the Summer concert season is over with. There were a significant amount of less arrests for fake IDs.
Fewer people were busted with fake IDs this summer in New York than in recent years.
The Department of Motor Vehicles says just over 300 people were cited as part of the agency's enforcement drive at concert venues.
It marks a slight decline from last year and a more than 44 percent decrease from two years ago.
In 2022, 550 people were charged for having fake ID cards", according to ABC76ny.com
In addition, more than 5,000 drivers under age 21 were arrested for DWI last year. According to the New York State website:
- Motor vehicle crashes are the number one cause of death for 15 - 20 year olds.
- Drivers under age 21 represent about 5 percent of licensed drivers, but are involved in 14 percent of fatal crashes.
