Many of us have lived here our entire lives, yet haven't seen some of the most famous landmarks in the Empire State.  We stay in our own little part of the state and don't venture off the 90 much to see the rest.

Yes, we have New York City within our borders and there are a ton of famous places there.  Central Park has been in a ton of movies.  The Chrysler Building and the Brooklyn Bridge are super famous.  Don't get me wrong, you should totally see these places too.  And sure, some of the most famous landmarks in New York City HAD to make the list because if you're a New Yorker, you really should see them with your own eyes at least once (you'll probably be surprised with how small the Statue of Liberty actually is!) but they didn't all make the list because New York State is so much more than just New York City.

We have lakes and mountains that would make just about any adventurer jealous.  We have wine trails and historical sites, many of which you probably had no idea were in New York.

But if you're making plans to take a trip this summer and a trip to the Caribbean, Europe, or Disney isn't in the budget, you should totally consider trying to hit up as many of these as you can.  Even if it's just to check of the list and say, "been there, done that."
