The 2023 NFL Draft is just over a month away but we still have been dealing with news of free agent signings around the league, including the Buffalo Bills.

General manager Brandon Beane has signed a number of free agents already -- none of them huge moves, but all make sense.

Buffalo started free agency last Wednesday by signing offensive lineman Connor McGovern and wide receiver Deonte Harty. McGovern should slot in as the starting left guard, while Harty will likely be the first or second slot receiver in the Bills offense, with the ability to return kicks.

Then the Bills signed quarterback Kyle Allen to be Josh Allen's backup, before signing wide receiver Trent Sherfield on Monday. Sherfield will help on special teams and can help the offense, catching a career high 30 passes for the Miami Dolphins in 2022.

Then on Monday evening, the Bills agreed to teams with former New England Patriots running back Damien Harris, who will take the place of Devin Singletary, who signed with the Houston Texans.

Despite the fact the Bills have signed two free agent wide receivers, there are many who believe they are not done adding to the position. Harty is the Isaiah McKenzie replacement, while Sherfield is essentially replacing Jake Kumerow. However, the Bills could still decide the need another legit weapon, opposite Stefon Diggs.

What about Arizona Cardinals star receiver, DeAndre Hopkins?

Hopkins trade rumors have been swirling ever since the end of the regular season and with Arizona switching their front office and coaching staff, it makes sense that the veteran would want a fresh start with a contender.

Daniel Jeremiah of The NFL Network said today that the Bills are the number one potential landing spot for Hopkins. He admits the contract would have to be addressed (needs to be restructured for the Bills to work it under the salary cap), but that it would help them finally get a big time weapon to pair with Diggs for quarterback, Josh Allen.

Hopkins is 30 years old and has two years remaining on his contract. The cap hit is north of $30 million, so that would absolutely need to be reworked for the Bills to make the trade. Buffalo only has around $12.4 million in cap space, with some of that needed to sign their draft picks.

I would still rather use a first round pick on a wide receiver. Other than potentially landing a stud, you would be paying that receiver rookie money and have a fifth-year option. It makes financial sense.

But Hopkins on the Bills would solidify that the Bills want to win the Super Bowl at all costs in 2023.
