As National Ice Cream Month comes to a close, there’s one question we have left unanswered: what is the best ice cream shop in Western New York?

While there are so many around the area and tons of them are locally owned, it is so close to a match-up that it really took some serious analyzing to come up with the conclusion.

After a poll on our Facebook page, we got an inside scoop (see what I did there?) on our favorite ice cream shops around Western New York.

  1. Sprinkles Creamery in Corfu
  2. The Scoop in Portville
  3. King Condrell’s in Kenmore
  4. The Great Lakes Station in West Seneca
  5. Nicky 2 Scoops Ice Cream Parlor in the Town of Tonawanda
  6. Antoinette’s in Depew
  7. Nick Charlap’s
  8. Anderson’s
  9. Sweet Jenny’s in Buffalo
  10. Platter’s Chocolate Factory in North Tonawanda

It is worth noting that everyone loves Perry’s ice cream, and that is without a doubt the most well-known ice cream brand in Western New York. Most ice cream shops around the area actually serve Perry’s, too – but it is nice to recognize some ice cream shops that make their own ice cream as well!

And while National Ice Cream Month is almost over, that shouldn’t stop you from treating yourself in August, September, and throughout the rest of the year!
