Attempted Kidnapping Just Happened In Western New York
There have been so many scary situations around Western New York lately, and another one just happened on Monday night.
Thanks to public forums on Facebook and X, community members have been able to advance the Neighborhood Watch team by sharing observations and experiences that can alert others to what is going on in their area.
However, it does mean that we have heard numerous stories about things that we never thought would happen in our neighborhood, including robberies and attempted kidnappings.
On Monday night, another story was shared to the Lancaster / Depew Neighbors Helping Neighbors Facebook group, and it has gained serious traction online.
Amanda, a mother in the Lancaster/Depew area, wrote on Facebook, “Be careful with your kids. Some African American guy in a blue car tried to kidnap my daughter today. Thank God he did not succeed.”
Amanda’s daughter was able to run home after the scary incident occurred outside of The Depew-Lancaster Boys & Girls Club, located at 60 Preston St, Depew, NY.
It’s good to be aware, but it is concerning that so many of these stories have been happening lately.
Remember the situation that occurred in early March? A young woman was nearly abducted from her own driveway after returning from a night out in Buffalo. Although the perpetrator succeeded in throwing the woman into the back of his car, she was able to fight to get the car to crash onto the sidewalk and she ran to a neighbor’s house for help.
Places you are so familiar with, including your own driveway, require alertness. Be safe, and make sure you are checking your surroundings.
