Yeah, this is NOT the news we wanted to hear. At the very least, the weather won't be cold enough for snow on Halloween (which was a worry last week) but you can expect pretty miserable weather for Halloween and through Friday.

According to WGRZ Weather, there is a High Wind Watch in store for Erie, Niagara, Orleans, Genesee, Wyoming and Chautauqua counties from Thursday evening through Friday evening.

The winds will be starting late on Halloween night and lasting through Friday evening and range 35-45 mph, with gusts up to 60. Be on the lookout for potential power outages.

Thursday looks like a washout though. The heaviest rain is expected to be Thursday evening, through the night, which of course couldn't be worse timing for trick-or-treaters.

The earliest rain from the storm system will start on Thursday morning.

The weather is expected to stay cold through the weekend, with the potential for, wait for it...a rain/snow mix!

I wish we had better news for Halloween. Bring the umbrella on Halloween and be careful of high winds.
