The COVID 19 pandemic is not going away quietly. In Erie County there seems to be a few places that have seen a rise in the amount of positive cases of COVID-19.

According to a report from Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz, many recent infections have been found at salons, day care centers and restaurants. There are also concerns about whether people are quarantining long enough after being exposed to someone with the virus.

This is troubling news considering many are being vaccinated and it seems most are sticking to the guidelines that have been put in place. The warm weather has allowed for people to be outside in fresh air more often over the last couple of days.

Those who are at least 50 years old or older can seek an appointment for a vaccine but the issue seems to be the supply chain and availability. As time goes on, I am hearing from more and more people who would get a vaccine but find it hard to dig for a place to get one that has open appointments. While we wait, remember to stay vigilant and smart about where and how we gather with others.
