Hennessey Sable Series: Teague’s Steak Subs & More

Hey, it's Yasmin Young and I'm teaming up with Hennessy to highlight black-owned businesses right here in Buffalo and Western New York as part of the Hennessy Sable Series.

This week, I talked with Shay, the co-owner of Teague's Steak Subs & More, a family-owned business located here in Buffalo at 1493 E Delavan Ave.

Besides being a great business that serves great food seven days a week, They're committed to the community! They offer 15% off for all police officers, firefighters, members of the military, healthcare workers, and senior citizens (with ID).

Yasmin: Tell me a little about how Teague got started?
I was just one day at work and my son was teasing me about cooking something and how we came to make a new recipe because he's a cook. So I said "You know what? I know what some of my college money back, so we are going to invest into a family-owned restaurant business. So you can make your mama rich, and boom, here it is!

Yasmin: What else do you offer? What's the "more" in Teague's Steak Subs & More?
We offer hot steaks subs, hot subs, cold subs, chicken fingers, chicken wingers, we offer everything besides pizza. We're even going to be offering breakfast as well Monday through Friday (from 7am-11 am).
