Many Western New Yorkers watched the elder McNabb play in college as he was a star quarterback for the Syracuse Orangemen. After redshirting in his freshman year, McNabb started every game he played in compiling a 35-14 record for Syracuse.

After college, McNabb was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles as the #2 overall pick in the 1999 NFL Draft. He would go on to play for 10 seasons with the Eagles earning 6 pro bowl selections and was the runner-up the NFL MVP in his second season in 2000.

The University of Buffalo Women's basketball team is hoping that the athletic gene runs deep as they offered McNabb's daughter Lexi a scholarship.

Lexi McNabb played guard for Seton Catholic High School in Chandler, Arizona, and averaged 13.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.3 steals, and 2.8 assists in 21 games in 2020-21.

While she grew up in Arizona, her dad will be able to tell her all about the cold and snow she can expect here in Western New York.

The good news for UB Basketball fans is that you might have a chance to chat up the former NFL star and he is expected to visit to see his daughter play.

The UB Women's basketball team finished last season 15-9 and were 11-6 in MAC conference play. They will kick off this season on November 4th as they play host to Daeman college. They will start their MAC conference play on December 29th vs Central Michigan.
