Dr. Fauci Anticipates a Second Coronavirus Outbreak
Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Dr. Anthony Fauci was able to answer a few questions during Monday's White House Coronavirus Task Force briefing, and he noted that a second coronavirus outbreak could occur again in the fall.
Fauci said he anticipates coronavirus will be cyclical and return in the fall because of its degree of transmissibility.
While a second outbreak could occur, the lessons that we are currently learning on both a national and global scale will likely lessen the severity of a second outbreak. While the cost of learning the lessons is high, in the future we will be much more prepared and able to track, trace and contain the virus should it strike again.
