Buffalo Native Is Starring In New Christmas Movie

Everyone has that secret dream of being in a Christmas movie one day, and one Buffalo native is going to be on the television screen doing just that come winter 2022. 

When you are binge-watching Christmas movies in November and December, keep an eye out for Charlene Amoia. The Buffalo born actress will be on televisions everywhere, starring in a new Christmas movie called “Romance on Ice.”

The film is directed by Fred Olen Ray, and Amoia is not the only piece of Buffalo in the film – the set is actually right here in Western New York, and they are filming in town all this week. 

Amoia has a major role in the film, as she is an Olympic figure skater’s best friend.

Of course with seemingly every Christmas holiday movie, there will be a romantic twist, and this film features an epic love story between an Olympic champion skater and a real-life prince. 

Amoia is no stranger to the screen, as this is her third time acting in a movie shot right here in Western New York. So far, the movie has filmed in the Northtown Center in Amherst, but they will also be filming in East Aurora.

Amoia’s favorite place to film is in her hometown surrounded by the people that she loves. And of course snow, because we are the “Queen City” for that.

Okay, bad puns, but Amoia is a seriously talented actress. You may have seen her in movies such as “Seven Pounds,” “American Reunion” and “The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It.” Amoia has also appeared in some television shows like “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Days of Our Lives,” and you may recognize her as Wendy the Waitress in “How I Met Your Mother.”

“Romance on Ice” will debut this Christmas season on a cable network that has not yet been determined, but it may be on ION or Lifetime. We’ll update you as soon as we know where you can see the film. And if you see Charlene Amoia around Western New York, tell her congratulations on the new film!
