Good news for the beer lovers in WNY, there will soon be another brewery in the area for you to visit! Big Thunder Brewing Company will now move forward in Wheatfield after Senator Rob Ortt announced the approval of a $750,000 state grant yesterday.

The brewery will be located in The Summit in Wheatfield and the actual brewery will go in the old Save-a-lot building. This will kickstart the much needed revitalization of the vacant shopping center. According to a press release from Senator Rob Orrt, "the total cost of the project is estimated at $3.1 million".In addition to the brewery there will also be a small distillery, restaurant and sports bar. The press release also stated that the project is expected to "create more than 50 new jobs and will be completed in early 2018".

John Robinson, General Manger and Partner of Big Thunder Brewing Co. said this about the grant approval,

“We’re thrilled to be working in Western New York. We appreciate the help and hard work from state and local officials to make this project possible, and look forward to continue working with them. This project is just the beginning of our vision to become a sports and entertainment destination that will include two sports domes, retail, a daycare, baseball fields across from the mall and more. We want to attract people and jobs to the area and continue to create opportunities for future growth.”

Congratulations to the brewery and here's to another successful and delicious brewery in WNY.
