The Bills have a long and proud history.  The team first started in the AFL in 1960 and won consecutive AFL Championships in 1964 and 1965.  And to this day, these stand as the only major professional sports championships from a team representing Buffalo.

Since the beginning of the Super Bowl era, which began with the team losing in the AFL Championship Game, a game that would have sent them to Super Bowl I vs. the Green Bay Packers, the team has seen its share of ups and downs.  They went to four straight Super Bowls in the early 1990s, and they also suffered through a 17-year playoff drought in the 2000s.

The team has been on an upward trajectory of late, but looking back at their history, which is the best Buffalo Bills team of all time?

CBS Sports took a look at every franchise in the NFL and released their list of the best team in each club's history. They started in with the 1966 season (the start of the Super Bowl Era) and looked at the average margin of victory during the regular season, offensive and defensive rankings, the strength of the schedule, talent and depth of the roster, and how far each team advanced in the postseason.

So which Bills team was determined the best of all time? The 2020 Bills could be in consideration with a franchise-tying record of 13 regular-season wins, and a trip to the AFC Championship game.  But the four early 90's juggernaut teams all advanced to the Super Bowl, so they advance to the next round of the conversation.

So, if it comes down to the 1990, 1991, 1992, and 1993 teams, which one is the king of the hill?  CBS sports went with the 1990 team, and here's why;

Buffalo's first of four AFC championship teams was its best. A team that boasted five future Hall of Fame players, the Bills won 13 games during the regular season before scoring a combined 95 points in their first two playoff games. The Bills were unable to duplicate that level of success in Super Bowl XXV, however, as the Giants' ball control offense...allowed New York to escape with a 20-19 victory.

The 1990 Bills team posted a 15-4 overall record including the postseason, won the franchise's first AFC Championship, and finished first in the NFL in scoring offense and sixth in scoring defense.

So what do you think?  Is the 1990 Bills team the best of all time?  Or do you have another choice?  Let the debate begin.
