Well here we are today after the opening ceremony of the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina. And if you had a chance to listen to the Tom Joyner Morning Show this morning you may have caught the crew talking about the breath-taking speech that First Lady Michelle Obama made to the world in support of her husband and President Barack Obama last night. She defended her husband as any great wife should and stressed the fact that he needed four more years to finish the job that he started.

Although I did not and will not watch the Democratic National Convention or get involved with the political process for that matter because I refuse to buy into the broken promises of politriks, I’m sure a number our listeners did watch with high levels of enthusiasm and may have felt good about what was being said by our First Lady.

But right now in this country there is way too much incarceration of a people that to me pretty much amounts to modern day slavery—what politician or politicians is SOUNDING THE ALARM AND ADDRESSING THAT ISSUE?

The unemployment rate of African Americans in this country is two times greater than that of other Americans in this country—what politician or politicians is SOUNDING THE ALARM AND ADDRESSING THAT ISSUE?

Guns and Drugs are flooded into inner city communities at an alarming rate—what politician or politicians is SOUNDING THE ALARM AND ADDRESSING THAT ISSUE?

To me it seems that politicians just put a band aid on the wound just enough to stop the bleeding without totally fixing the problem. I often hear people say well this party would not allow him or her to do this and they would not vote for that and the bickering among the main two political parties continue…have you ever considered the possibility that maybe, just maybe it might be a good time to vote for a different party? You know it’s been said that if you continue to do the same thing and you keep getting the same results—that, is a sign of insanity!
