Alcohol To Go Could Come To End Of Road On Saturday

One of the biggest changes to take-out and deliveries during COVID-19 was restaurants were allowed to sell Alcohol with the purchase of food. They may end on Saturday.

The original change to allow the sale of Alcohol with Take-out and deliveries came on March 16th and according to the original law, it is expected to end of June 27th, which is this Saturday.

Pursuant to the Governor’s order, effective Monday, March 16, 2020 at 8:00PM, all licensed on-premises establishments (e.g. restaurants, bars, taverns, clubs, arenas, catering establishments, etc.) must cease on-premises sales of alcoholic beverages and/or food.  This restriction shall continue until June 27, 2020 but may be extended or reduced depending upon the circumstances.

Now, the change could be extended by the Governor, and many lawmakers in Erie County are for allowing the sale to continue.

Currently, Western New York is in Phase 3 of reopening which allows restaurants to have indoor and outdoor dining.
