I have a personal memory of Aretha Franklin.  She was scheduled to call WBLK for an interview with me prior to one of her many performances at Seneca Niagara Casino, which I hear was one her favorite places to visit in WNY, and when she call I answered to her saying, "Hello, this is Aretha Franklin, I'm so sorry I'm late calling; I lost track of time cleaning my house."  I said, "Ms. Franklin that is no problem, it's an Honor and a Privilege to speak with you."  I then said to her, "there's no need to apologize, but did you just say you were cleaning your house?...doesn't someone do that for you?"  Aretha Franklin's response was, "Oh no Honey, I do that myself...no help."  At that very moment it felt like I was talking to my Mom.  Her demeanor was so Humble and Down To Earth.

Furthermore, I was able to meet Miss Franklin after that concert at Seneca Niagara Casino, and remember seeing Mayor Byron Brown backstage as well...the entire experience...interviewing her and meeting her and taking a picture with her was such a Blessing.  While interviewing her, I asked her if I could record her saying something that I could keep and play when I play any of songs...and this is what she did which I will always cherish and keep FOREVER...Thank You Miss Franklin... Rest In Peace!

WOW...again...a moment I will cherish and remember for the rest of my life.  Thanks 'Lady Soul'.
