Before there was rap, there was the DJ -- an artist with the ability to move the crowd with two turntables. The art form of deejaying gets a new platform on VH1's reality competition series 'Master of the Mix.'

The Smirnoff-sponsored show gives several DJ hopefuls a chance to prove if they have the skills on the 1s and 2s to keep the crowd entertained. The winner will be crowned the title "Master of Mix" and pocket $250,000 in cash.

The series originally aired on BET for two seasons with judges Just Blaze, Amber Rose, DJ Kid Capri and Vikter Duplaix. This season's new panel of judges are DJs Kid Capri and Mia Moretti and A&R expert Ben Maddahi. The show will be hosted by Amanda Seales.

VH1 will premiere 'Master of the Mix' at 10 p.m. ET on April 1.
