According to the Buffalo News, a 62-Year-Old Drug, Daraprim, the standard drug used to treat people with a life-threatening parasitic infection, was acquired in August by Turing Pharmaceuticals.

The controversy surrounding the drug stems from Turing Pharmaceuticals immediately raising the price of the drug from $13.50 a tablet to $750 PER TABLET!
