Tupac Shakur ‘7Dayz’ Documentary Filmmaker Seeks Funding Via Kickstarter

The final days of Tupac Shakur's life before his untimely death on Sept. 13, 1996, is being featured in a new documentary titled '7Dayz.'

Filmmaker Gobi M. Rahimi, who directed 2Pac's video for '2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted,' is looking for backers on Kickstarter to fund the project.

According to Rahimi, the late rapper hired him to film everything he did during his last eight months of his life. The doc will feature this unreleased footage showcasing Shakur's day-to-day activities and interviews with many of his close friends, many of whom have never spoken before.

Rahimi will also recount the agonizing seven days he and family members endured while 2Pac was on life support at the University Medical Center in Las Vegas after the shooting.

"The chilling details of 'Pac’s last 7 days are unknown to most fans," Rahimi writes in his pitch. "Those 7 days were surreal. Infested with FBI informants [and] gut-wrenching nights spent with 'Pac drifting in and out of consciousness. You would be stunned to hear about the vicious death threats sent to 'Pac in his weakened state, and yet the Vegas Police Department refused to cooperate -- the whole experience was nerve-shattering."

"And yet what happened during those 7 days has remained a secret, until now," he adds.

The filmmaker so far has raised over $3,000 of the $95,000 he needs to completely fund the project. Investors have until March 3 to donate monies to the documentary, which is expected to be released in June 2013.
