Tribute to Jam master Jay [VIDEO]

Jam Master Jay was shot and killed 11 years ago today in his Queens recording studio. We pay tribute to one of the most influential DJ's in Hip Hop inside.  

Born Jason William Mizell in Brooklyn, NY, Jam Master Jay started playing trumpet at the age of 3. By the time he was 13, he was DJing in Queens. Prior to joining Run-D.M.C. he played bass and drums in several garage bands. In 1982 he hooked up with Joseph "Run" Simmons and Darryl "D.M.C." McDaniels and the rest is history!
