More attention is on Libya, with thousands of the country’s missile arsenal unaccounted for.

As many as 20,000 heat-seeking missiles have turned up missing. These portable, shoulder fired weapons have the capability to bring down commercial jets.

The threat of terrorist acts against innocent people is leading some congressional leaders to consider requirements for commercial planes to be equipped with missile defense systems. This system would fire a laser beam, diverting the projectile away from its target – a move that could cost tax payers $6 Billion.
