This Week In Hip Hop With ReddRoxx!!!

The slap was heard around the world! Assistant to Evelyn Lozada, Nia Crook slapped Jennifer on last week’s episode! In the after-math Jennifer has filed assault charges against the rowdy assistant. I don’t think slapping folks was a part of her job description!! As a result some of the wives plan on sitting out of the reunion show taping claiming the lawsuit is frivolous and a ploy for Jennifer to secure her spot next season.

All of the drama and outrage by fans and cast members has the Queen Bee of Basketball Wives herself releasing a statement to express her opinions of the show and her cat fighting friends:

"I'm extremely happy that Basketball Wives continues to have another successful fourth season. As the ratings have been through the roof since our season opener, fans continue to tune into the lives of Evelyn, Tami, Jennifer, Royce, Suzie and myself. As there is always controversy and indifference projected on the show, because we are all individual personalities, I always hope that people will find that as much as you may agree or disagree with the opinions, the behavior, [and] even our different taste in shoes, you are taking a look inside the lives of four complete different women. I will never say I agree with some of the behavior between my girlfriends on the show, but if we were to edit certain things out the show would be scripted and not reality.

As a woman of color with kids, I am very aware of myself, but I also have to be aware that my choices cannot be the same for everyone on the show and I have to respect that. I hope the fans feel they see a balance and know we have always been real with our stories, even though it may not always be a positive portrayal of adult women but real women nonetheless. I look forward to developing other media platforms in the future and hope that fans will continue to support."

Sounds to me like a little bit of damage control! But hey, I can’t knock her hustle!!

In other Basket Ball Wives news, YES! There’s more! Things got a little messy for Royce Reed. Not only is she dealing with a heated custody battle with her baller baby daddy Dwight Howard (as I reported on last week) buuuuut this week she was entangled in a bitter love triangle twitter war after her current NFL footballer boyfriend Dezmon Briscoe baby momma posted racy photos and texts that he apparently sent to her very recently!  The three engaged in a series of tweets and sub-tweets which included Briscoe admitting to sending the texts! Tisk tisk tisk… ya’ll know how the saying goes…what’s done in the dark will always find its way to the light, and these days it seems like Twitter is the preferred tool of light-shedding! But the two have announced their plans to wed despite the controversy….go figure!!

Nicki Minaj says that a voice in her head told her to delete her twitter page!! This is what she was quoted saying during her appearance on the Graham Norton show in the UK.

“A voice in my head told me to delete my Twitter and that’s what I did. I had 11 million followers and I hope they will wait for me. I reply all the time and get to know them by name and I have a really personal bond with them… not all 11 million, but at least 10 of them a day…I don’t know yet, I’m thinking about it. I miss my Barbz (her name for her fans), please bear with me

 I don’t know, sounds like all the fame is getting to her. After all, she only had 11 million people following her every tweet!

Is there any Love left in Hip Hop??!! After Chrissy announced that she and Jim Jones would no longer be a part of the Love and Hip Hop cast, Emily B, Fabulous’s girl said that she will not be joining the cast for the next season as well! So I guess the answer is no. I don’t know about ya’ll but there’s no reason for me to tune in without them! The word is however, that we WILL see love elsewhere and it’s on the set of Chrissy and Jim’s spin-off show “Jim and the Family Jones” and Emily B is reportedly in talks for her and Fab to have their own show as well (not sure if Fab is on board with that!) but wishing the couples the best of luck!!
