In August of 2015, The Game was sued for $10 million by Priscilla Rainey, a contestant on his VH1 reality show She Got Game, for sexual assault. Rainey alleged that while shooting an episode of the show, the rapper become drunk and was "out of control," at one point forcefully touching her under her dress. In February, it was reported that Game had lost the case after failing to respond to the complaint, but now TMZ is reporting that his legal team has filed documents to open Rainey's sexual history up to the court.

While Rainey claims the move is only intended to victim shame, Game's team thinks it is a reflection on her credibility, alleging that she was at one point a prostitute and engaged in a "promiscuous" lifestyle. In addition Game wants the jury to know that she allegedly spent time in a mental institution and was allegedly arrested for theft.

Sexual assault has been the topic of much conversation in recent weeks after audio from 2005 of presidential candidate Donald Trump surfaced in which Trump speaks cavalierly of making unsolicited advances on women: "When you're a star...you can do anything." Earlier this week, a Trump spokesperson appeared on CNN defending his comments, saying that they are a reflection of hip-hop and Hollywood culture.

"This rape culture is purported by none other than the entertainment industry, none other than hip-hop music which you can hear on local radio stations as well as network television which actually pushes this," she said.

We will update news on Game's case as it becomes available.
