For some time there has been a lot of concern as to whether or not the splash pool at Martin Luther King Jr. Park would be available to residents this summer.

Well that question has been answered, and it looks like the splash pad will be set to open June 1!

There were several reasons as to why the city took its time in the scheduling of the re-construction with its contractor and others involved in the process. At a cost of $4.5 million on five acres of land, the splash pad features 300 fountains that can be computer programmed by City Hall in animated formats for everyone to enjoy!

Will this new development in MLK Jr. Park satisfy those citizens that had their doubts about the progress of the park?
