Trayvon Martin

In February 2012, Sanford, Fla. resident George Zimmerman, 28, shot and killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, who was unarmed. Zimmerman claimed he felt threatened and that the shooting was in self-defense, and he was not charged because of Florida's "Stand Your Ground" law.
