More than 100 women are suing Qualitest Pharmaceuticals, a subsidiary of Endo Pharmaceuticals, for a birth control packaging error they say resulted in unplanned pregnancies. Some want the company to cover the entire cost of raising the children.

The plaintiffs claim the blister packs had been rotated 180 degrees, meaning the weekly tablet orientation had been reversed, according to the suit filed in Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas.

According to CNBC:

U.S. District Judge Steve C. Jones noted in his ruling that only 53 of the half-million recalled blister packs had the pills arranged in reverse order in the package. He said that each woman's case was unique — given whether she became pregnant, whether she carried the pregnancy to term, the relevant laws in her state, and whether she kept the package or receipt — and should be weighed individually.
