Slick Rick is indeed the ruler when it comes to bling. The veteran rhyme-slinger is never without an iced-out eye patch and several diamond-encrusted chains around his neck. Recently, a piece of his jewelry got an expensive $75,000 upgrade.

Rick went to New York jeweler Avianne & Co. to enhance his already $40,000 14-carat diamond cross. The 4-inch medallion (pictured above) received 50 additional carats and a square backdrop of colorless D stones. The rapper's name is featured on the back right side and on the left reads a scripture from Psalm 23:4: "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me."

The entire project took three weeks to make in-house at the jewelry store.

Avianne & Co. has been in the news lately for their extravagant jewelry making. Most recently, they help design Ciara’s massive engagement ring. The 15-carat emerald cut diamond ring reportedly cost a half million dollars.

Future proposed to CiCi with the rock about a month ago much to the R&B songbird’s delight.

“@Future Forever My King,” Ciara wrote on Instagram, adding the hashtag “#HappiestGirlInTheWorld.”

It looks like diamonds are forever for both Slick Rick and Ciara.
