Should the Government Put Restrictions on “Luxury Foods” for EBT Users?

If you haven't heard already a Republican state senator named Patti Ritchie proposed a bill last week to ban EBT users from buying steak, shrimp, junk food and other items with SNAP benefits.

She says these things are considered "luxury items" and wants to stop people who use food stamps from buying "high end food" or anything that isn't nutritious. Decorated cakes,  lobster, energy drinks, and more are also on the proposed list.

However some Democrats are fighting the bill saying it " unfairly targets the low-income people who rely on public benefits".

So tonight's question: Should the Government Put Restrictions on "Luxury Foods" for EBT Users?
