This is new to me but apparently this celebration of music has been going on for quite some time.  According to buffalorising.com, this event began in France in 1982 and was called Fête de la Musique (The Feast of Music) and has since become a Huge Community Wide event, nationwide, now known as Making Music Day.

Buffalo's 'Making Music Day' celebration is being organized by Arts Services Initiative of WNY (ASIWNY), according to buffalorising.com.  You can be a part of this Community celebration of music event by registering as either a musician or vendor.  The big difference between Making Music Day and your regular music event is that participants will be anywhere and everywhere music can be played.
