According to reports, Rap mogul Russell Simmons has partnered with HealthCorps, an wellness program aimed at addressing the problem in schools and communities across the country, to help fight child obesity through a new partnership with. Simmons plans to attend Dr. Mehmet Oz' Fresh from the Garden Gala which will take place at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in New York City on Wednesday, April 13th, and will benefit high schools across the country by helping to introduce the HealthCorps curriculum into the nation's educational system. HealthCorps places recent college graduates (Coordinators) in high-schools for a two-year assignment to serve as mentors for students as they develop into young adults. Simmons will also be joined by Miami real-estate developer and philanthropist Tibor Hollo, Deb and Hugh Jackman, Ben Vereen, Caron Wheeler of Soul II Soul and broadway actor Stepp Stewart.
